Red Craze

So this morning (AKA the last post) I drew a very cool themed picture. Lots of blues and purpleish colors... so I decided to take things in a different direction. Here we have crazy red themed painting. I like it. And I really like it when hanging next to the blue one. They're like crazy twins.

Had a busy morning...

18 x 24, acrylics on watercolor paper. Painted in approximately one and a half hours from a live model. Lordy this one was stressful... but I quite like it.

Some more color...

Ok here. The top one is a skeleton-based still life done in 3 hours... I call him drunkyton (cause of that nice beer bottle floating around his crotch). The bottom is a homework assignment invented by the devil that involves painting a picture of a wad of paper. Ugh.

Finally some color

So our homework this weekend was to paint a fruit. So of course I chose the mighty pineapple. This assignment was really just to test our pre-existing painting skills... so this is what I came up with. I like it... its bright and frothy... BUT I'm sure my acrylic skills will increase ten fold by the end of this week. We'll see what I come up with.

Working with Dramatic Lighting

This isn't the greatest photograph in the world... but I thought the finished work looked great in person. She kind of looks like some lady from a makeup ad.

And on to Portraiture...

Another 18 x 24 charcoal... took about two hours and was drawn from a live model.
